Skyland Adds Accolades at Lexington Spring Encore
The amazing Skyland Farm team earned many accolades during the Lexington Spring Encore, the second week of the Lexington Spring shows, held May 1-5 at the Virginia Horse Center.
The hard-working Skyland team paused for a brief moment for a group photo, including Katie Pohlman and her dog Hogan, Rudy, Giovanni, Orlando and Elias (behind Katie).
Michele Trufant and Itchy Garrett earned a blue ribbon in every class they entered in the Training Jumpers, from the .75m to the .95m, for a total of seven! Michele and her Dancing Ollie also captured blues and other impressive ribbons on their way to earning the Special Adult Hunter and Thoroughbred Hunter reserve championships.
Leslie Kopp earned great ribbons on Griffin in the 3'3" Amateur-Owner, 36 and over, section while only showing the first day. Leslie also jumped to excellent performances aboard Doman and Cesar VDB Z in the Adult Amateur Jumper classes.
Emma Pell and F-15 earned four second places in the equitation classes, including the USEF/Dover Medal, the Oak Ridge Medal, the VHSA Equitation on the Flat and the 15-17 Equitation on the Flat.
Emma continued her excellent results in the jumper ring, riding Ari 55 and Santos to ribbons in the Low and Medium Junior Jumpers.
Mosie Pennington and Dreamscape continued to produce great rounds in the Small/Medium Pony Hunter section, earning ribbons in every class! Mosie also placed second in the MHSA Pony Medal. In addition, she piloted Yours Truly to ribbons in the Children's Small/Medium Ponies.
Trainer Denice Perry's homebred C’superman (Copperman--Cirena) lived up to his name was was super! He won two classes and earned great Baby Green Hunter ribbons and excelled in the 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old Hunter classes.
