Skyland Shines at Lexington Spring Premiere

After a fantastic winter season in Florida, the Skyland Farm team returned home to Virginia to begin the spring show season at the wonderful Lexington Spring Shows, held in April at the Virginia Horse Park.

Emma Pell continued to rack up wins and accolades. She topped the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic on Ari 55, earned the section reserve championship and was named Best Junior Jumper Rider. Emma also guided Santos to superb rounds in the Low and Medium Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers.

Emma also won the Equitation, 12-17, on the flat and placed second in the USHJA Jumping Seat Medal and Oak Ridge Medal aboard F-15.

Leslie Kopp and Griffin collected some impressive ribbons in the 3'3" Performance Working Hunters in a large section with a California split. Leslie also piloted Doman and Cesar VDB Z to excellent placings in the Low Adult Amateur Jumpers.

Mosie Pennington and Dreamscape won the VHSA Pony Medal and many pony hunter ribbons, and Mosie also took lots of Children’s Hunter Pony ribbons on Yours Truly.

Trainer Denice Perry's homebred C'superman won a Baby Green Hunter class and picked up other ribbons.

"Overall, it was a very good week," said Denice.
