Skyland Scores Blues at Blue Rock
The Skyland Farm team traveled to the Swan Lake Blue Rock Classic in Pennsylvania for the week of May 15-19, and it was a successful trip north.
Emma Pell and Santos were nearly unstoppable in the 1.30/1.35m Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers. They earned championship honors after topping the speed class and placing third in the $2,500 NAL Medium Junior/Amateur-Owner Classic.
Not to be outdone, Santos' stablemate Ari 55 won the NAL Low Junior-Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and placed third in the Low speed class for the reserve championship.
But Emma wasn't finished yet--aboard F15, she won the USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal, the ASPCA Maclay and took top ribbons in the MHSA Hunt Seat Medal and the NHS 3'3" Medal.
Pony rider Mosie Pennington continued the ribbon run in the juniors, capturing impressive placings aboard Dreamscape in the Small Pony Hunters. Mosie also piloted Yours Truly to excellent rounds in the Modified Hunters. "It was the best she's ever ridden!" said trainer Denice Perry.
Denice wasn't without her own riding accolades, as she guided her young homebred C'Superman to the 2'6" Schooling Hunter championship, and the pair also won a class in the 2'9" Baby Green Hunters. "Superman was just super," added Denice.
Michele Trufant's Dancing Ollie continued his impressive results in the Take 2/TIP Thoroughbred Hunters, earning the reserve championship with a first and two seconds.
Despite not being able to show over the weekend, Leslie Kopp made the most of her time in the show ring. She earned good ribbons 1.0-1.10m jumpers during the week aboard multiple horses. Her Cesar VDB Z earned the 1.05m Open Jumper championship with a first and a fourth.
Skyland would also like to thank our hard-working behind-the-scenes team! We couldn't accomplish what we do without you!
