A Wonderful Winter at WEF

Michele Trufant and Biaggi

The Skyland Farm team enjoyed a wonderful and successful season on the Winter Equestrian Festival circuit in Wellington, Florida. From the Holiday Horse Shows in December to the 12-week winter series from January to April, our riders and horses earned ribbons, gained great experience and had fun!

Congratulations to all of our clients and horses:

Michele Trufant and Biaggi

Michele Trufant - Michele and her new horse, Biaggi, had a fantastic first show season, culminating with top ribbons in the Masters Jumper Division in the International Ring. “This is a new partnership, and they were both amazing,” said trainer Denice Perry. “I’m looking forward to seeing their progress continue as the year continues. It’s very exciting!”

Brooke Ballhaus and Beverly’s Bebop

Brooke Ballhaus - Brooke and Beverley’s Bebop showed for three weeks early in the season during the holiday circuit and had excellent results. The pair earned top ribbons in the Adult Equitation, claiming a blue ribbon in a very competitive group. Brooke and Cordina also earned great ribbons in the jumpers.

Ava Papez and Valentino Rossi

Ava Papez - Ava and the super pony Valentino Rossi made their presence known in the Short Stirrup and 2’ Hunters. The pair earned blue ribbons and top calls in the Hunters and Equitation throughout the circuit.

Elizabeth Papez and Carlido S

Elizabeth Papez - Elizabeth’s flashy chestnut Carlido S had beautiful performances and earned great ribbons over fence and under saddle with professional Bert Mutch in the irons. As a grand finale, Carlido and Elizabeth competed together during WEF 11 and 12 in the Older Crossrails, where they earned ribbons and had enjoyed their time together forging a partnership.

Skyland thanks our entire team for such a wonderful winter! We couldn’t do this without our fantastic staff, clients and, of course, these amazing horses and ponies!
