Gold Times in Tryon for Skyland

Emma Pell and Santos galloped and jumped their way to team gold for Zone 3 in the 1.30m-1.35m USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships, held July 13-14 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.

Emma, of Winchester, Virginia, joined three other teammates to compete for Zone 3, and they captured the gold medal by 3 faults.

Emma also piloted Ari 55 to victories in both of the 1.20m Low Junior Jumper classes they contested and placed second in the Classic for the section championship. "They were awesome!" said trainer Denice Perry. "She also won the Platinum Performance/USEF Talent Search 2* class and the WIHS Jumper Phase with him. They had an amazing week!"

Denice and her homebred C'Ironman earned the 2’6" USHJA Hunter championship with blue ribbons in two over fences classes out of 20 entries. They also earned ribbons in the 2'9" USHJA Hunters.

Denice also rode Leslie Kopp’s Carduzo to clean rounds in the 1.10m and 1.15m jumper classes. "I was super pleased as he had time off and feels great coming back," said Denice. "Leslie will pick up the reins on him during our next show."
