Skyland Stars at the Showday National
The Skyland Farm team had a banner week at the HITS Showday National, held July 3-7 in Culpeper, Virginia.
Taking home the blue ribbon in the $2,500 Pyranha Junior/Amateur-Owner/Amateur 1.20m Jumper Classic was Emma Pell and Santos. Emma also guided F-15 to some excellent performances during the week, winning the VHSA Equitation on the Flat and placing second in the MHSA Junior Medal.
HITS Culpeper is host to the Culpeper Equitation Classic, a class designed for Junior, Amateur, Children and Adult riders showing at 3’ or 3’6”. The rider who accumulates the most points throughout the season will automatically qualify for their respective Medal Final at the Marshall & Sterling Insurance League National or Indoor Finals. Emma rode to second in this competitive class aboard F-15.
Mosie Pennington and Dreamscape earned yet another tricolor, with the championship in the Small Pony Hunter section with two wins over fences on the second day. Mosie was also third in the USEF Pony Medal class and earned excellent ribbons on Yours Truly in the Small/Medium Children's Pony Hunter section.
Danielle DeRisio and Cirena continued their consistently good performances at Culpeper. The pair placed third in the Low Children's/Adult Jumper Classic and also claimed second in a Low Adult Jumper class.
Emma rode Sarah Freidah’s Farnely Marathon in the Virginia-bred Pony Hunter section, where they once again earned excellent ribbons and won the model class.
