Summer Fun at Culpeper

Mosie Pennington and Cirena

It's not summer in Virginia without a visit to HITS Culpeper! The Skyland Farm team enjoyed their week at the Winston National, August 18-22, in Culpeper, Virginia.

Mosie Pennington and Cirena moved up to the Modified Children's/Adult Jumper division and collected the reserve championship. The pair placed first, second and fourth in their classes with consistent performances.

Brook Ballhaus and Natalie Wasson

Brooke Ballhaus also moved up to the 1.20m Low Junior Jumpers with Little Gun 17, and on the way they captured the reserve championship in the High Children's Jumpers. Brooke also rode Beverly's Beebop to victory in the VHSA Hunter Seat Medal class, second in the NHS 3'3" Medal class and fourth in the USEF Hunter Seat Medal and in the VHSA Hunter Seat Medal Flat.

Natalie Wasson guided new partner Sofia Car in the High Children's Jumper division and brought home a second-placed ribbon. They also won a class in the Low Children's Jumpers before moving up. Natalie also rode Privilege to the top call in the NHS 3'3" Medal class and placed third in the VHSA Flat Equitation as well as the Culpeper Equitation Classic. The pair also placed second in a Low Children's Jumper class to round out their successful show.
