Emma Pell Shines at Maryland Horse & Pony Show
Emma Pell continued her banner fall show season during the Maryland Horse & Pony Show, held September 14-18 at the Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro.Emma topped the MHSA Hunt Seat Finals - Ponies and earned the Small Pony Hunter Championship with Forget Me Not, won top ribbons aboard her Medium Pony Checkmate, and was ultimately named Best Child Rider on a Pony.Emma also won some great ribbons on ARi 55 and Amelie in the Low Children's Jumpers to add to her excellent hunter results, including the reserve championship in the section aboard Amelie.Earlier in the week, Leslie Kopp's new mount Gone Country was reserve champion in the First Year Green Hunters with Chiara Carney aboard. Country and Leslie also received some excellent placings in the 3'3" Amateur-Owner section, including a blue in the under saddle class.Leslie's Fenwick also earned a tricolor, taking the reserve championship in the 3'6" Performance Working Hunter section with Chiara aboard before Leslie earned ribbons with him in the 3'3" Amateur-Owners."Overall, it was a super show for the Skyland team," said trainer Denice Perry. "Additionally, we would like to recognize and thank the Maryland Horse and Pony show managers and staff for an outstanding effort with their prize presentations and ribbons. The trophies, gifts, ribbons and presentations were exceptional and appreciated by all!"
