Loudoun Benefit
It was ribbons galore for the Skyland Farm team during the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show, held June 10-14 in Upperville, Virginia.Virginia Bonnie and her Wink And Smile continued on their winning ways, taking the Small Pony Hunter championship over a competitive field. The pair won the Small Pony Conformation class and the Handy on their way to the tricolor. Although Virginia and Wink And Smile make a successful duo, the lovely gray is sadly outgrown and proudly offered for sale. Virginia also rode Prom Queen to excellent placings in the Medium Pony Hunter section.Emma Pell and Checkmate picked up wins in the Small/Medium Green Pony Hunter section, including two over fences classes, to earn the Reserve Championship. Emma also claimed top ribbons with Forget Me Not and Glynmagic Cover Girl in the Small and Medium Pony Hunter sections, respectively.Elizabeth Wiley and her Adult Amateur mounts Say Again and Crescendo collected ribbons in the Performance Hunter 3'3" and Adult Amateur, 36-49, sections throughout the show, with impressive performances.Leslie Kopp's new mare Bethany partnered with Denice Perry for more mileage and experience in the Performance 3'3" Hunters, while Leslie enjoyed her time in the Adult Hunters with The Impressionist and the Adult Jumpers with El Cano. Michele Trufant, fresh off a Local Hunter Championship at Upperville, piloted Prime Time to excellent rounds in the Adult Amateurs. Congratulations to all!
