Lexington Spring Premiere

 Despite cool and damp weather for much of the week, the Skyland Farm team withstood the elements to claim major victories at the Lexington Spring Premiere, April 21-16 in Lexington, Virginia.IMG_1454Emma Pell had a banner show, sweeping the Small Pony Hunter section aboard Forget Me Not. The pair won all five classes in the section to also earn the Grand Pony Hunter championship. In addition, Emma guided Glynmagic Cover Girl to two blue ribbons in the Medium Pony Hunter section, and when combined with their other top placings, the pair clinched the reserve championship."Pony Finals here we come!" said trainer Denice Perry. "Forget Me Not was already qualified, but with this week's reserve championship, Glynmagic Cover Girl now secured a spot. I'm so excited for Emma. She rode great all weekend, and I'm very proud of her."Elizabeth Wiley also picked up tricolor honors in Lexington, riding Say Again to the Low Hunter championship and the Adult Amateur Hunter, 36-49, reserve championship. The pair collected three blue ribbons and multiple other top placings in the two sections. Elizabeth also guided Crescendo to excellent performances in the Adult Hunters, for a colorful collection of ribbons during the week.Leslie Kopp returned to the ring aboard The Impressionist and El Cano in the hunter and jumper sections. Highlights included two clear-round blue ribbons in the .95m Schooling Jumpers and a fifth place in the Low Adult Jumpers, Leslie's first time moving up to this level.
