Skyland Assistant Trainer Katie Pohlman grew up in Ohio and started riding when she was about 4 years old. She showed lightly throughout the Midwest in her junior years before attending college at the University of Findlay, where she competed on their highly competitive Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) team.
Katie qualified for the IHSA Nationals all four years, starting at Novice and finishing as Findlay’s Open rider. She was reserve national champion in Open Flat her senior year when the Nationals were held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
After graduating, Katie worked for Scott Gentry and Tapestry Farms in Chicago for slightly more than two years before taking the job at Skyland. She currently resides in downtown Middleburg and when not at the barn she enjoys attending sporting events and concerts.
