The Skyland Farm team enjoyed their time at the Middleburg Classic, a barn favorite hometown show, held September 21-26 in Upperville.

Mary Lou and Becca Glover’s Blush continued to shine in the Green Pony section. The elegant chestnut earned the show championship with top scores and three blue ribbons over fences with rider Eddyn Molden in the irons. Blush also placed second in the under saddle to add to her tricolor points.

“She went beautifully,” said trainer Denice Perry, of the Small Pony who is available for sale or lease.

Mosie Pennington won good ribbons in the Children’s Hunter, 14 and under, section aboard the gray Lapis. Earlier in the week, Chiara Parlagreco and Lapis won both Local Pro over fences classes and earned the division reserve championship.

Lindsay Welsh’s Rocketeer was spectacular, ending up 11th out of 50 in a really strong field in the Middleburg Hunter Classic. “They are a beautiful pair, and he jumped amazingly,” said Denice.

Eddyn and her Fruitcake earned the Take 2 Thoroughbred Hunter championship with a first and second over fences and the win under saddle. The pair also collected the top call in the $500 Take 2 Thoroughbred Hunter Classic and received nice ribbons in the 3’6″ Small Junior Hunters, including a third under saddle.

Our visitor Caroline Burke, from Saratoga New York, rode beautifully on Lysa Burke Hutton’s Voila. They won some nice ribbons, and it was so fun to see Lysa out and about cheering everyone on.

Natalie Wasson and Brooke Ballhaus also won some prizes in the Junior Hunters on their equitation horses as the show didn’t offer equitation. “All and all, it was a beautiful, fun show at an amazing venue. The quality of the horses showing was just amazing. Congratulations to the entire team on a great show!” noted Denice.
