Winter Equestrian Festival Update

Denice Perry and Chaufante during their Pre-Green Hunter championship presentation.

Skyland Farm riders and horses have now enjoyed four weeks on the Winter Equestrian Festival circuit in Wellington, Florida, collecting ribbons and gaining valuable mileage with new horses.

Denice Perry started out strongly aboard Skyland Farm’s young mare Chaufante, jumping to the Pre-Green Hunter 3-/4-Year-Old championship their first time out during Week 2. The elegant gray caught the eye of not only the judges but other riders and trainers for her athleticism and talent. The pair earned two firsts and two seconds in a competitive field to take the tricolor.

Students Elizabeth Wiley and Leslie Kopp also joined Denice for some fun in the sun over the past few weeks. Elizabeth and her Crescendo and Say Again have earned a variety of ribbons in the Adult Amateur, 36-49, section, while Leslie has returned to the show ring after a long hiatus and is competing The Impressionist in the Low Adult Hunters.
